“ The sun on the baby’s hip represents the sun on the philippine flag and so do the stars on the baby’s’ feet. so when people use the saying, “attached by the hip” they’re considered inseparable or one. So even though i was born here surrounded by American culture and american ideals (represented by the the US colors as you can see) my filipino ethnicity will always be part of me or attached to my hip and my footsteps are the continuation of my past generations who were all born in the philippines.”
